04High Pressure Forged Steel Gate Valves in A105, F11, F22 and F91
High pressure forged steel gate valves with A105 carbon steel or F11, F22 and F91 alloy steel bodies for project-specified on-off isolation.
This high pressure forged steel gate valve family covers NPS 2–24 (DN50–DN600), ASME Class 600–2500, butt-weld or flanged ends, and handwheel, gear or electric actuator operation, with ASME B16.34 as the design basis. Select A105, F11, F22 or F91 against the piping specification. Availability of each material, size and class combination is confirmed during technical quotation.
Mainly used in power plants involving fossil fuels, coal, gases, nuclear and thermal power, boilers, steam stations, etc. as flow isolation valves. The valve is intended for on-off isolation rather than continuous throttling.
A105 Carbon Steel and F11/F22/F91 Alloy Steel Selection
An A105 gate valve uses forged carbon steel specified to ASTM A105; F11, F22 and F91 are alloy steel grades specified under ASTM A182 for the applicable forged components. For a forged carbon steel gate valve, evaluate A105 against the approved service conditions. For a forged alloy steel gate valve, select F11, F22 or F91 to match the piping class, material specification and design pressure and temperature. These materials are not interchangeable upgrades. Heat treatment, welding controls, trim and inspection requirements follow the approved project specification.
Industrial Isolation and EPC Procurement
- On-off isolation in industrial piping where the approved piping class specifies an A105, F11, F22 or F91 forged steel gate valve
- Steam and other process isolation duties in power-generation, oil and gas or chemical projects, subject to the selected material’s pressure-temperature rating and medium compatibility
- New EPC projects, replacement valves and plant-maintenance procurement
Key Features
A range of compact pressure seal gate valves designed according to ASME B16.34.
- The full range is offered in four standard forged materials: A105 (generally used on feedwater lines), F11 and F22 (both used on steam lines), and F91 (proposed for high-temperature applications).
- End-to-end dimensions comply with ASME B16.10 short pattern.
- Available in wedge gate and parallel slide configurations. Seats are welded in.
- A position indicator is offered as standard. Standard ISO top mounting allows easy assembly of any type of actuator or bevel gear.
- Available options: wedge vent hole or overpressure pipe, by-pass, and limit switches in the open or closed position.
- Valves are offered as standard with manual operators (handwheel or bevel gear, depending on size). Electric, pneumatic or hydraulic actuation is available as an option.
- The pressure seal design uses pipeline fluid pressure to enhance sealing action, with a preloaded graphite or metal gasket positioned between the body and bonnet.

What materials are available for this high pressure forged steel gate valve?
The family includes A105 forged carbon steel and F11, F22 or F91 forged alloy steel options for fully open or fully closed industrial isolation. Select the body material against the piping specification, medium and design conditions. Each offered material, size and class combination is confirmed against the project RFQ.
Which sizes and pressure classes are available?
The listed product range is NPS 2–24 (DN50–DN600), with ASME Class 600–2500. The final size, pressure class and valve configuration are confirmed against the project RFQ and piping specification.
How should A105, F11, F22 and F91 be selected?
A105 is forged carbon steel; F11, F22 and F91 are alloy steel grades. A105 (generally used on feedwater lines), F11 and F22 (both used on steam lines), and F91 (proposed for high-temperature applications).
What is the listed temperature range?
The listed temperature range is -29~595℃. A105: -29~425℃; F11: -29~550℃; F22: -29~570℃; F91: -29~595℃.
Which end connections, operating methods and design standard apply?
The listed connections are butt-weld and flanged ends. Standard manual operation uses a handwheel or bevel gear, depending on size. Electric, pneumatic and hydraulic actuation are available as options. The design basis is ASME B16.34, with ASME B16.10 short-pattern end-to-end dimensions. End preparation, flange details, actuator requirements and inspection scope are confirmed for the supplied configuration.
What information and inspection documents are required for an RFQ?
Send size, ASME class, quantity, medium, design and operating pressure and temperature, A105/F11/F22/F91 material selection, trim, end connection, operating method and documentation requirements. Material certificates, drawings, pressure-test records, NDE records, dimensional reports, inspection plans and third-party witnessing can be reviewed when specified in the RFQ and confirmed in the order scope.
