Assembly and Configuration Record

This case documents the workshop assembly of a DN400 PN25 WCB pressure-seal double-disc wedge gate valve. The supplied photographs record the principal gate components, stem connection and completed valve configuration. Service medium, operating temperature, design standard and acceptance criteria remain project-specific and are not stated in this case.

Double-Disc Wedge Arrangement

The closing assembly uses two gate discs together with a central wedge arrangement. Stem movement is transmitted through the central assembly to position the discs against the corresponding body seats. Component orientation, travel and final seat contact should be checked against the approved assembly drawing and project datasheet before release.

Assembly Checks to Document

  • Verify body and bonnet material identification and heat traceability against approved BOM and material records.
  • Confirm the disc pair, wedge components, stem connection and guides are installed in the specified orientation.
  • Inspect accessible seating surfaces for cleanliness and visible damage before final assembly.
  • Check operating travel, clearances, retaining features and accessible fasteners against the approved procedure.
  • Record dimensional, functional and pressure-test results only as required by the purchase order and inspection plan.

Documents to Request Before Shipment

Depending on the purchase order, the release package may include the approved general arrangement drawing, datasheet, bill of materials, material certificates, dimensional report, inspection and test plan, pressure-test report, specified NDE records, coating record, operation and maintenance instructions, and final packing photographs.

Project Release Basis

Final acceptance should reference the approved design and dimensional standards, end-connection details, material specification, pressure- and seat-test requirements, leakage criteria, NDE scope, coating system and operator configuration. These items remain order-specific until confirmed in the purchase order and approved manufacturing documents.
